Switch your lights off for one hour, Saturday March 27, 2010 at 8:30 pm.
Earth Hour is a one hour lights out event, created by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) that mobilizes millions worldwide to show support for action on climate change. Earth Hour is designed to help show people how they can be part of the climate solution and that every day actions can add up to make a real difference.
As part of the District's commitment to reducing energy consumption and achieving carbon neutrality, we are participating in Earth Hour 2010. We encourage all individuals, schools, businesses and organizations to join millions of Canadians that participate in this worldwide symbolic event.
During Earth Hour 2009, Maple Ridge reduced electricity consumption by 3.1%, which was one of the highest reductions in Metro Vancouver. Join us March 27 to make Maple Ridge a leader in the region for Earth Hour 2010.
