SPCA
The BC SPCA (The Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Branches work with the community to provide services such as cruelty investigations, sheltering and adoption, emergency rescue and treatment, humane education, advocacy, wildlife rehabilitation and a wide range of other programs to help animals. The BC SPCA offers school education programs, youth camps, public awareness campaigns, and lobbies municipal governments to create bylaws for mandatory spaying and neutering, licensing, and other aspects of responsible pet guardianship.
Dog Licences
Dog Licences are Due January 31 Every Year
New for 2012, Finance and Licences, Permits & Bylaws departments can now accept dog licence renewal payments online. How does it work? When you receive your renewal notification in the mail, the invoice will have your account number and access code that you'll require to renew your dog's licence. Visit our website and follow the instructions. You will be able to pay using your Visa, MasterCard or by Interac with most major banks. Once your payment has been made, your dog tag will arrive in the mail. Online isn't the only way to make your renewal payment, we are still accepting payments in person at Municipal Hall or over the phone by calling 604-467-7384. Please note that if you are applying for the "Spayed or Neutered" discount you will need to provide a document of verification from your veterinarian. If your dog has passed on or moved to a new family, please contact the District by phone 604-467-7384 or via email so that we may update our records.
