Municipal Ticket Information (MTI) Ticketing

Content

Ultimately, when efforts at obtaining compliance with District bylaws have failed, Bylaw Enforcement Officers must decide whether the contravention of the bylaws requires enforcement of the bylaw by issuance of a Municipal Ticket Information (MTI). MTI's are issued for both parking violations and municipal bylaw violations.

How do I pay for a MTI ticket?

If you've received a MTI Ticket from the District of Maple Ridge, the process to pay for a ticket is as follows:

  • in person at the District of Maple Ridge Finance Department with cash, Visa or MasterCard, cheque or debit card, or,
  • over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard. Please contact the Licences, Permits and Bylaws Department if you wish to make payment over the phone.

Some MTI Tickets issued for parking violations are eligible for a discount if they are paid within seven days. For a complete list of violations and fine amounts and discounts, please refer to the District of Maple Ridge's Maple Ridge Ticket Information System Utilization Bylaw [PDF, 178KB].

How do I dispute a MTI ticket I've received?

To dispute a municipal ticket, you must complete a MTI Ticket Dispute Form which is available online [PDF, 25KB] or at the Licences, Permits and Bylaws Department front counter. Once the form is completed and submitted to the Licences, Permits and Bylaws Department, the Supervisor of the department will review the request and advise you of the decision within seven days.

Please note, MTI Ticket Disputes must be received by the Licences, Permits and Bylaws Department within fourteen days of receiving the ticket.
